Paul Knox writes on international affairs for The Globe and Mail. He worked on The Vancouver Sun and the News Letter (Belfast, Northern Ireland) before joining the Globe and Mail in 1978. He spent six years as a staff correspondent in Latin America, based in Mexico City and Rio de Janeiro. He has also served as assistant foreign editor and national editor for beat reporting. He now writes the twice-weekly Worldbeat column as well as news, features and analysis on global issues and events. He is a commentator for the Spanish-language service of Radio Canada International, and has contributed articles to the annual Canada Among Nations and the Britannica Book of the Year. He is also a director of Canadian Journalists for Free Expression.
