Michael Lind is a Senior Fellow at the New America Foundation in Washington, D.C. He has been a senior editor or staff writer at Harper’s Magazine, The New Yorker, the New Republic and the National Interest. He was assistant to the director of the U.S. State Department’s Center for the Study of Foreign Affairs in 1990-91. In addition to several volumes of poetry and fiction, Lind is the author of several books on world politics, U.S. foreign policy and political history, including The Next American Nation (1995) and Vietnam (1999). He writes regularly for The New York Times. The Washington Post, Prospect, and other journals.
