Joe Schlesinger has been with CBC Television News since 1996. He has been both executive producer of The National and head of television news. In 1991 Joe was appointed Chief Political Correspondent for CBC Television, and retired from that post in 1994. He continues to contribute to CBC TV News as a special correspondent as well as host of his own half hour foreign affairs show on Newsworld. Joe has been honored a number of times for his journalism, including two Gemini awards, and in 1995 he was named a member of the Order of Canada.
